Sailing San Diego

San Diego... What a place to visit! I'm in the San Diego mode; this was a picture that I took last year. I will have some shots on flickr in a few days from my recent trip; some of the pics are incredible.

This week the Tall Sail Festival 2008 is going on and it will run through Sunday August 24th. It is well worth the trip if you can make it. Every year Tall Sail Ships meet in San Diego from around the world. It was amazing to see the sailors walk on the high ropes to tie the masts. There is plenty of people watching, digital camera buffs and strange and unusual things happening on Harbor Drive, downtown.

The Cabrillo Lighthouse is located near Loma Point overlooking the city. You can take great full shots of the city and bay area. It is best if you hit the Lighthouse after the morning fog lifts, most days 11AM. It is a National Park so there is a fee to get in.

Just below the Lighthouse are the Tide Pools. Here you will find there are great natural rock formations, ocean waves and surfers seem to gather.

Think out of the box. Bring your creative ability to the next level.

Bye for now!
